Earlier this year, we learned that the Saints line franchise made a comeback. When this new match, only titled Saints Row, was revealed, given the release date of February 25, 2022, which seemed ambitious when announced. Apparently, it was rather ambitious – at least for the Covid-19 era – because Saints Row has now been postponed.
New Saints Row release set for August
The delay was announced in a post to the Saints Row website today, with the Head of the Valutition of Creative Officer Jim Boone announced it. “Saints Row will no longer be released on the initial date announced 2522 February, the opposite will be launched around the world on August 23, 2022,” Reading Boone’s announcement.
It was almost six months delay for the title, with Boone said that Saints Row needed more “smooth adjustments” to do justice for the Volitional’s vision for the project. Boone noted that if Saints Row has been released in February, it will not be in accordance with the standards we have set themselves. ” He also suggested that this game mostly finished on the Content Front, with the willingness to focus on “overall quality and polishing” for this extra six months.
COVID-19 claims another release date
This is not a surprise at all to hear that Pandemic Covid-19 is one of the driving factors behind this delay, because it changes the development of the game on its head. Saints Row is the latest in a long list of games that have been postponed because of the pandemic, because the team was forced to work remotely and progress in slowing development.
In this case, Boone said that even though the pandemic did have an impact on the project, the team at willingness can quickly adapt to work from home and continue to be productive despite changes. Indeed, it seems that the delay caused by a pandemic is normal even when the team can make changes to work remotely without losing a lot of productivity.
This is of course not the last Covid game match that we will see, because the pandemic is still very real in many parts of the world. We will make our eyes peel more than Saints Row, but instead, look for the game to be launched on August 23, 2022.
