2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid debuts at LA Auto Show packing a 226HP electrified powertrain

2023 KIA Sportage Hybrid made the Great entrance on this year’s auto performances. The latest Hybrid Sportage is the latest variant of Sportage All-New-Gen Sportage which was introduced some time ago, and it packed a similar powertrain hybrid as a cousin of the Tucson hybrid. However, Sportage Hybrid has several tricks on his sleeve to provide a more sportsial and more interesting driving experience.

The latest hybrid sports has a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with direct gasoline injection. Electric consists of a 44 kw permanent magnetic electric motor and a high lithium-ion lithium-ion battery package. KIA claims the combined output of 226 horsepower, 2,000 lb towing capacity, up to 39 MPG (FWD model), and more than 500 miles of driving distance with one full gas tank. In addition, Kia said the new Sportage Hybrid emitted 40 percent less CO2 emissions than the outgoing model.

“The new Sportage Hybrid SUV marks another step in KIA’s progress in sustainable mobility, as part of our global ‘plan’ ” plan,” said Sean Yoon, President and CEO, Kia North America. If you remember, Kia launched a plan for a road map to the electrifies last February. South Korean car makers target 40 percent of environmentally friendly sales in the decade by offering up to 11 electric models in lineup in 2026.

From the perspective of styling, Sportage Hybrid Bear similar “opposite United” design like those brothers. It has a floating tiger-nose grille similar to a typical Daytime boomerang sap, angle fender, broken roof line, and a strong shoulder line. Of course, the hybrid model gets delicious needed to distinguish it from the others. The basic model gets a unique 17-inch wheel, while the 18-inch roller is more significantly standard in ex and sx-prestige.

Meanwhile, Kia added a sportage hybrid interior “inspired by high-end outdoor products, furniture, and modern architecture.” It has a premium dashboard with beautiful air ventilation and a double panoramic curved display available for cluster instruments and infotainment systems. The latter combines the appearance of a 12.3-inch digital instrument and an infotainment screen of 12.3 inches under a curved glass panel like in the expensive Saloon or German SUV. It also has a new touchpad with climate and audio control under the display of infotainment such as regular sportage.
