Today, tidal announced several significant changes to the level of subscribing and the way would pay the artist. First, install it introduces a free streaming level, marking the first time the service will be accessible without a monthly subscription. TIDAL Free takes on Spotify

Unfortunately, tides will only be available in the US. Tidal said it planned to bring a free tier to another area where the service was available, but we were not given a timeline for the launch.
TIDAL makes payments more “fan-centric”
In addition to announcing a free tier today, the ups and downs also announced two ways it changed payment for artists. The first is a direct payment system to a new artist, which will send the portion of each monthly subscription fee for HiFi Plus to the artist they mostly encourage. Tidal said that direct payments to this artist will be given to artists other than their royalties, but do not reveal the percentage of cutting artists will receive in today’s announcement.
